The Monal,
A Grand Venue for Memorable Celebrations
Built in the 1850s and was once home to the renowned Aakash Restaurant, founded by Lord Lieutenant of Yorkshire, John Lyles. The name "Monal" is inspired by the vibrant and colourful Asian pheasant native to the mountainous wooded regions, known for its striking dark plumage and iridescent hues. The Monal is a grand venue nestled in the heart of Cleckheaton, Yorkshire. Perfectly located, we’re just 15 minutes from Bradford, less than 30 minutes from Leeds, Wakefield, and Huddersfield, and slightly further from Manchester and York. The venue has been lovingly and sensitively restored, the building retains many of its original features, offering a breathtaking and timeless setting that is perfect for celebrating your special day. We are able to accommodate even the largest of celebrations, being able to take 400 people on our main floor, 200 on our balcony and 300 in the downstairs hall.
